Prof. Dr. Berkan Reşorlu was born in Ankara in 1979. He completed his medical education at Ankara University between 1997-2003. Between 2003-2008, he completed his urology residency at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and became a Urology Specialist. After his specialization, he carried out many international studies and made significant contributions to the literature with more than 110 articles published in SCI/SCI-E indexed international journals. Academically, he received the title of associate professor in 2013 and professor in 2022.
In 2012, he went to Bakırköy Training and Research Hospital to receive advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery training, and in 2013, he was at the Cleveland Clinic to further increase his knowledge and experience in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
In 2014 and 2015, he served as the Training Supervisor at Ankara Training and Research Hospital Urology Clinic. Dr. Reşorlu worked as a faculty member at Ondokuz Mayıs University Department of Urology between 2016 – 2019, and after working at Memorial Ankara Hospital between 2019-2020, he has been continuing to serve his patients in his own clinic since November 2020.
He and his colleagues published the most extensive series studies of that period in endoscopic (closed) stone surgeries and, for the first time in the world at that time, performed these surgeries on children under 1 year of age and published them in the literature.
The stone scoring system they developed and named after themselves was accepted in the international literature and validated many times; likewise, the endoscopic stone surgery model they defined on a pig model was organized as a course at an international meeting and published as an article in an international journal.
He has participated in many symposiums and congresses held domestically and internationally, attended 75 of these meetings as an invited speaker, and performed live surgeries in 16 meetings, three of which were international. He has also organized many symposiums, meetings, and workshops.
Dr. Reşorlu, who has served as an invited author in many national and international books, is currently serving as an editor and reviewer in many domestic and foreign journals.
Between 2012-2015, he served on the Young Urologists Committee of the European Association of Urology (EAU), and since 2018, he has been a member of the PNL working group of the International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU).
Dr. Reşorlu, who is a member of the two most prestigious associations of urology, the American Urological Association (AUA) and the European Association of Urology (EAU), is invited as a speaker to the congresses of these associations.
